Conventional beach holiday but authentic Spanish ambience

The beach resort of Mojacar in the Levante region of Almeria Province in the region of Andalusia is one of the Mediterranean's best kept secrets; it is the perfect destination for a hassle-free and relaxed break - you can be away from the numbers enjoying a conventional beach-based holiday but you will also be immersed in an authentically Mediterranean cultural ambience. Make no mistake, you are in the real Spain not a sunnier version of being back at home.

Uniquely Warm Climate

Sandwiched between the Sierra Cabrera mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar Playa enjoys a uniquely balmy climate, as does the whole of Almeria Province. Hot summers (25-35 degrees Celsius), warm springs and autumns (15-25 deg C) and mild winters (12 deg C average) come as standard.

One hour down the coast, the city of Almeria has the most hours of sunlight in the whole of Europe and, due to this arid climate and low rainfall, it is no surprise that, further inland, the region has the only officially recognised desert on continental Europe El Desierto de Tabernas. For those considering travelling to Mojacar, this means an extended season in which you can holiday inexpensively in April and October and still be confident of some good weather.

Relaxed Atmosphere, Uncluttered Beaches

The local planning authorities have resisted fast track high rise tourist development in the resort, so what we have is an attractive 9km of unspoilt sandy beaches and low rise hotels and apartments living cheek by jowl with Spanish owned bars, restaurants and businesses. The beaches are never overcrowded even in high season and a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere pervades the resort

Many of the apartments are owned by Spanish residents or as second homes and only a handful are ever rented out. This means that you never feel you have people on top of you.
